The Biggest Celeberation Of Iranian


Norouz which is the most important and also the biggest celebration of Iranian is started at the first day of the spring when the duration of day and night are the same till the 13th of the first month of the spring. Norouz is the ceremony to say goodbye to the winter and coldness and frostiness and beginning the New Year with harvesting and all the good and new things with the time of blossoming the buds. Our ancestors believed that on the last Thursday of the winter the ghosts come to the earth and watch their family and they take blessing for them so people in order to guide them set the fire on Thursday night besides the streets and try to have some fun. If so the ghosts will be happy and they return to their life soothed, otherwise they’ll get upset and they have to wait for the next year. For these days people try to clean their houses and get rid of all the ruined and out of order furniture and tools. Another ceremony in Norouz is setting a table which has seven cases which start with "s". Each of them has its own meaning and is based on our ancestor's belief. For example Vinegar is a symbol of changing, grass plot is a symbol of new life, coin means blessing, Samanoo shows fertilization, ...
